- A renowned journalist has revealed that Marvel’s Blade game is most likely canceled.
- He stated that the Iron Man game by EA could still be in development.
- There was a lack of any development updates on both titles for a very long time.
Being developed by the Deathloop studio, Arkane Lyon, Marvel’s Blade was first announced back in 2023 at The Game Awards. Since then, there have been very minor to no updates, and based on a new report, there is some bad news.
According to a journalist, Marvel’s Blade has now been canceled at Arkane, following a lack of development updates. It was rumored to be targeting a 2027 release, but now it seems there has been a change in plans.
Why it matters: The Blade franchise seems to be cursed at this point. There was also a Blade movie in the works, which has now reportedly been shelved, and the game has now likely suffered a similar fate.
In a recent Giant Bomb live stream, Jeff Grubb was asked about the fate of Marvel’s Blade, to which he replied that it is likely dead now. However, he did say that the Iron Man game could still be in the works.
The project was really interesting because Blade has a huge fan base, and his powers would’ve translated very well into gaming. Additionally, from the teaser trailer shown, the art style also looked very impressive.

Anyhow, despite Grubb’s reliability and solid track record, it is better to take this with a grain of salt. However, since we haven’t been given any updates on the development, it is likely dead, pretty much like the movie.
