- Notable insider claims that GTA 6 will get a physical disc edition a month after launch.
- The game’s current code-only physical edition is just for the initial production run to prevent leaks.
- The insider has a good track record, and his earlier claim that Rockstar would skip a GTA 6 disc edition has proven true.
The GTA 6 marketing campaign finally began in full swing yesterday, with pre-order details and price confirmation coming to light. However, there’s also been controversy over Rockstar skipping a traditional disc edition in favor of codes.
A new report now reveals that GTA 6 will get a physical disc edition a month after launch. The game’s current code-only edition is just for the initial production run.
Why it matters: Rockstar skipping out on a traditional GTA 6 physical edition and opting for a code instead is to avoid leaks, and if the current reports are anything to go by, we’ll still receive a disc edition later down the line.

This tidbit was confirmed by Polish outlet PPE, whose insider Graczdari holds a credible track record in the industry. He was previously the first to confirm that GTA 6 will skip a traditional physical edition.
Now, he reports that a disc edition of the game will release in December for both Xbox and PlayStation. This timeline also adds up because Rockstar can take full advantage of the holiday period.
Generally, the release with the code will be one shot, and then the option for a CD release.
-Insider, Graczdari.
The insider has also correctly predicted the launches of several AAA entries in the past, including the physical edition of Oblivion Remastered, the PS5 port of Microsoft Flight Simulator, and more.
A reader of the publication also reached out to PPE and confirmed that Rockstar answered him with hints at a boxed version of GTA 6. Rockstar said it will come ‘during the following months.’

This corroborative, semi-official confirmation from the customer support team further confirms that we’ll see a disc edition soon after November.
