- Rockstar writer Alexa D’Agostino revealed that she developed Lucia to have the same impact as Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic.
- The protagonist is based on real people and will be a little cliched.
- However, that is part of the process in trying to make Lucia a fully realised person.
With merely a month remaining until launch, marketing for GTA 6 is in full swing, and Rockstar is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the title. The company is planning to adorn the entire city of Miami in anticipation of the game, even going as far as renaming the Miami Heat to Vice City Heat for one NBA game.
Featuring over 170 animal species and a dynamic weather system, Rockstar is planning to overdeliver on fan expectations with GTA 6. Now, a new promotional tie-in has revealed another ambitious goal the developers have set for protagonist Lucia.
Why it matters: Making a character as nuanced and impactful as the two mentioned above is no easy task. But if one company can deliver on that promise, it’s definitely Rockstar.

In a new feature in Love Magazine, writer Alexa D’Agostino revealed that she wrote Lucia to be as iconic as Rockstar protagonists Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic. The Rockstar writer explained that she based the character on her own mother, trying to relate Lucia to other badass women in the world.
D’Agostino further emphasized that she wanted the GTA 6 protagonist to be imperfect and also a little cliched, as that would make Lucia seem like a fully realised person who can stand tall next to the likes of Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic.
Considering how Rockstar has already stated that it wants both of the protagonists to elicit the same emotion in fans as Arthur Morgan, it seems like the fans will be in for a treat when it comes to the game’s narrative.

With other previews revealing that GTA 6 will feature more explicit content, an open-world that is always active, and a flurry of side activities, every tidbit that comes out about the game lends more credence to Rockstar’s claim that GTA 6 will be as much of a cultural juggernaut as 2009’s Avatar.
