Silent Hill PT Returns In An Unexpected Manner!

Story Highlight
  • Silent Hill PT is getting an upcoming native PC version, with new gameplay footage now available.
  • The game is expected to offer a lot of upgrades over its console counterpart, including 60FPS, mouse and keyboard support, and more.
  • The project appears to run without a PS4 emulator, which is a big deal for preservation.

Over 10 years after its cancellation, fans continue to look back upon Silent Hill PT with a lot of disappointment. In fact, many even compared recent releases like Resident Evil 9 with Silent Hill PT to showcase the game in a positive light.

It’s good news, then, that a native PC port is now being worked on to preserve Hideo Kojima’s cancelled Silent Hill title.

Why it matters: Silent Hill PT was considered a very different type of horror game, one that fans immediately grew to like.

As seen above, Silent Hill PT is already in a playable state on PC, with this port being around 97% complete.

According to Lorean The Gamer, this version of the game runs natively on PC without using an emulator and offers upgrades like 60FPS gameplay. Note that the original version on PS4 was limited to 30FPS.

By the time the full version is available, additional features like FSR and DLSS support, various controller inputs, and mouse and keyboard support will also be added. The video shows that the game is already playable from start to finish.
