The Xbox Head Refused To Spoil The Unannounced Games!

Story Highlight
  • Xbox head Phil Spencer has revealed that the company has more unannounced games planned for later this year.
  • He refused to leak any of them to surprise the community, but we might hear about them soon.
  • Xbox might reveal some or all of these games during the Summer Showcase event, which is set for June.

After lacking first-party releases for the last few years, things are finally looking bright for Xbox with a slew of entries already confirmed to launch in the coming months. However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer claims that even more unknown titles are planned for 2025.

This tidbit comes after Xbox Game Studios boss Craig Duncan also affirmed that Xbox has multiple unannounced games in development earlier this year.

Why it matters: 2025 for Xbox is already loaded with many intriguing launches spanning various franchises, so these remarks are a big surprise for gamers.

Indiana Jones Game Pass
Phil Spencer is also happy with how well Indiana Jones has performed and teased a sequel.

In an interview with Variety, Phil was asked what to expect from Xbox for the rest of 2025. He said that some titles are still unannounced besides the known ‘slate of games.’ Although the CEO is not ready to leak them yet, to keep the element of surprise.

For us and the rest of this calendar year, I really feel great about the slate of games. […] There’s more stuff, some stuff that’s unannounced, and I’m walking in my head to make sure I don’t leak anything.

Many in the community expected Xbox to have no more unannounced titles in the pipeline for the rest of 2025, especially because major games like the new Doom, The Outer Worlds 2, and potentially Gears of War: E-Day will launch soon.

We just had ‘Avowed’ come out, and I have to go backwards and just say Obsidian continues to do a great job. We’ve obviously talked about ‘The Outer Worlds 2,’ ‘South of Midnight,’ ‘Doom.’

As per rumors, these unannounced games are expected to include a new Forza Horizon, a Ghostwire Tokyo sequel, a Fallout 3 remake, and the like.

The Xbox head also teased more live-action gaming projects in the past.

Xbox might reveal some or all of these unannounced titles during the Summer Showcase scheduled for June this year. On a side note, Microsoft also wants to develop new franchises.
