- New GTA 6 screenshot URLs are now showing up on Rockstar’s API after recent updates.
- Rockstar Games also seems to have cleared its Instagram profile to make way for more GTA 6 posts.
- This could mean that another trailer is coming up, which will be followed by more official screenshots, including cover art.
GTA 6 was first shown at the end of last year, breaking many viewership records on YouTube, and since then, fans have been waiting to hear more about the title.
While virtually nothing has shown up since then, recent activity on Rockstar Games’ API suggests that the developers plan to share more information soon. Evidence has pointed toward new screenshots, which could mean another trailer is coming soon.
Why it matters: While the game is not coming until next year, the first trailer is nearly half a year old already. Therefore, Rockstar Games may be preparing for its next marketing beat.
As noted on Twitter, Rockstar Games’ official website was updated to add placeholder links for the key art/cover art and new screenshots for the game.
Opening the links currently results in a 404 error since the developers have yet to add anything to the links. Moreover, it has been noted that many posts on Rockstar’s official Instagram page have been removed recently.
Only a few posts related to GTA 6, GTA Online, and GTA+ are currently available on the page. Rockstar Games carried out a similar cleanup before launching the first trailer in December.
Put together, these updates suggest that another trailer is coming soon.
It should also be noted that the first trailer of GTA 6 was released around the same time as Take-Two’s quarterly earnings call. The publisher is set to hold another earnings call on May 16.
Therefore, more details on GTA 6 are expected to show up around the same timeframe. If nothing else, Rockstar Games will likely release these screenshots to keep the buzz around the title going.
Elsewhere, recent rumors have suggested that GTA 6 will launch in the Fall of 2025. The game may also incorporate Red Dead Redemption 2’s gore systems, making it the most violent title in the series to date.
