Xbox Boss Hints Removing PlayStation And Nintendo Logos From Their Showcases to Prioritize Their Consoles

Contradicting Matt Booty's Statement That The Logos Will Still Be Displayed!

Story Highlight
  • Sharma says putting PlayStation and Nintendo logos on their showcases was a big miss.
  • She hints at removing them in future events, as they will now adjust as per feedback.
  • This is a contradiction to what Matt Booty previously stated that they’ll keep the logos.

The console wars pretty much died this generation, and PlayStation became the de facto console for most, and Xbox moved to a publisher role. However, the new leadership wants to compete once again and is taking steps to make it happen.

Xbox CEO says that putting PlayStation and Nintendo logos during its showcases was a mistake, hinting that they could remove them in the future to prioritize focus on their own consoles, which seems a logical thing to do.

Why it matters: While most of Xbox’s first-party games will still be multiplatform, the company wants to ensure that the focus still remains on their platform, and they can win back their lost audience

Xbox could remove PlayStation and Nintendo logos from its showcases

Recently, the Xbox CCO, Matt Booty, in an interview, confirmed that they will continue to show other platform logos in showcases; however, Asha Sharma contradicted that in an X post, saying that doing this was a big miss.

She said that they saw the feedback, and it didn’t seem like a good decision, and they are working on adjusting that for the future. For once, it looks like the two leading people for Xbox aren’t on the same page as usual.

The new boss wants to make their console and PC presence stronger

But since Sharma took over, there have been talks about an increased hardware focus and the company returning to its roots. So, to put the focus completely on its consoles, removing the logos sounds like the right thing.
