Time To Get Excited For Huge Xbox Showcase!

Story Highlight
  • Xbox Showcase is coming up on June 9, followed by the Call of Duty Direct.
  • According to reports, the event will feature as many as 40 titles.
  • Fans can expect new reveals from fan-favourite franchises, new IPs, and various third-party studios.

As the date of the Xbox showcase approaches, we are getting more and more insights into the event. Scheduled for June 9, the event is going to be exciting for fans, as Xbox is known to go big with these annual events.

While there is already plenty of buzz and speculation around the showcase, it has been suggested that the event will feature as many as 40 big games.

Why it matters: PlayStation is skipping the showcase and Nintendo’s next console is expected in 2025. Therefore, fans are now looking at Xbox to keep the industry excited in June.

An insider on Twitter shared his thoughts on the event. Colteastwood expects a whopping 40 games to show up, including ‘new reveals and returning favorite fracnshies.’

Colt has been known to have close ties with Xbox executives and various sources. Therefore, we would not be shocked if his statement was more than just an educated guess.

Anyhow, Xbox has featured a similar number of games at events like last year’s showcase and ID@Xbox. It is important to note that not every reveal will focus on AAA IPs, though there will be plenty of those for fans of the big-budget Xbox experiences.

As for what could show up, Doom is more or less guaranteed after several leaks. Gears 6 is seemingly all but confirmed, and various insiders have hinted at games like State of Decay 3 and Perfect Dark showing up.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6
Black Ops 6 Is Going To Game Pass In 2024

Microsoft may share another look at already revealed games like Fable and Indiana Jones. Black Ops 6 can also be counted as one of the reveals, though the first-person shooter is set to receive its own Direct, much like Starfield’s event last year.

To say that Xbox has had a rocky 2024 would be an understatement.

The brand has shown great promise, but each positive move has been shrouded in controversy due to recent decisions regarding Microsoft’s gaming business. The Xbox Showcase presents an opportunity for a reset.

Xbox should be looking at delivering the best possible event next week to divert attention away from its missteps. Perhaps the gaming giant will finally earn everyone’s trust back after June 9’s showcase.
