"It's Our Own Unique Take on The World"

Story Highlight
  • Insomniac Games has confirmed that the X-Men don’t exist in Marvel’s Wolverine.
  • Instead, there will be a group of mutants, Team X, that saves other mutants in danger.
  • We see some of the members in the trailer, including Jean Grey and Mystique.

Insomniac Games revealed a stunning look at Wolverine’s explosive gameplay at the recent State of Play. The trailer also revealed a few more familiar faces, which led to the question if the full X-Men squad is a part of the game.

Unfortunately, the studio has confirmed that the X-Men don’t exist in the world of Marvel’s Wolverine, but there will be a group of mutants called Team X. They say it’s their own unique take on the universe and the story.

Why it matters: Professor X’s squad has been central to Logan’s story throughout history, although we’ve had his standalone journies as well, so this will be a very interesting take.

The X-Men are not in our game, and where we do start is Logan has been around for a while. He’s been part of a team called Team X, that saves other mutants in danger.

Talking to Variety, creative director Marcus Smith revealed that X-Men don’t exist in Wolverine; instead, there will be Team X. We are at a point where mutants are still lesser known and are hiding for the most part.

We will see familiar faces as part of a group called Team X

Team X is being defined as a group of global mercenary mutants that protect other mutants in danger. We do get a glimpse of that from the trailer, where Wolverine tries to free a bunch of mutants caught by Trask Industries.

We do see some of the other mutants in the trailer, too, including Jean Grey and Mystique, who could be a part of Team X. Additionally, the trailer also reveals Sabertooth and Omega Red, but they could just be the villains.
