- Insomniac has revealed an in-depth look at Marvel’s Wolverine’s explosive gameplay.
- The showcase also reveals massive X-Men names like Jean, Sabertooth, and Mystique.
- The game will retain its September 15 release, with pre-orders opening today.
Fans have complained about the lack of exclusives this generation. It is even reflected in the sales, which have fallen substantially for first-party titles. However, kicking the year with Saros, it is now preparing for Marvel’s Wolverine.
At today’s State of Play, Insomniac Games showcased explosive gameplay for Marvel’s Wolverine, filled with gore, complementing the character’s theme. It also has some very familiar faces that fans will love to see.
Why it matters: The gameplay looks super fun with stunning visuals that will likely utilize the full potential of the current-gen consoles. More importantly, it seems Sony finally has its heavy-hitter after a slow PS5 generation.
The gameplay is as bloody and gory as you’d expect. Insomniac hasn’t held back at all, which fans will widely appreciate. Additionally, we also see some big X-Men names, with Jean Grey highlighting the list.
Jean appears to be an ally and will help you fight the enemies with her psychic powers. Moreover, the game also includes Sabertooth and Mystique, and we are hoping that there will be other secret cameos as well.

Nonetheless, Marvel’s Wolverine is looking impressive, and it has retained its September 15, 2026, releasing almost a month before GTA 6. The pre-orders will also open right after the State of Play stream ends.
