PlayStation Fan Creates Petition For Starfield On PS5

PlayStation Users Want Starfield!

The latest Starfield Direct has impressed audiences in the gaming industry. Introducing several new gameplay systems like ship customization and combat, Bethesda Game Studios appears to be setting a new bar for sci-fi RPG adventures.

Starfield will be released on September 6, and the game is limited to Xbox Series S|X and PC. This means it is Microsoft’s biggest first-party game for 2023, but one PlayStation fan is not too fond of this idea.

Following the recent Starfield Direct, a petition has been making the rounds, and it asks for Starfield’s availability on PS5.

Why it matters: PlayStation and Xbox are known for various exclusive games. However, this can often mean fans with one console can miss out on extremely enticing titles.

The petition not only asks for the game on PS5, but it goes a step beyond, asking for it to be made a PS5 exclusive. The user makes a bold claim and states:

“Xbox and its 12 dedicated players do NOT deserve Starfield or any exclusivity.”

Since Bethesda Game Studios and Starfield are owned by Microsoft, this is completely unrealistic. However, this is not the only odd part of this petition. Reading the description, the petition comes across as an attempt to troll gaming fans.

Still, over 2000 users have already signed the petition. Many have also left a message against the petition, but it is unclear what percentage of the 2121 signatures want Starfield on PS5.

Previously, reports claimed that PlayStation was looking to secure exclusivity for Starfield. While the validity of this report remains questionable, PlayStation has been known to sign aggressive third-party exclusivity deals.

The gaming giant recently signed timed-exclusivity deals for titles like Deathloop, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Final Fantasy 16.

Apart from this petition, Starfield has also been subject to negativity on Metacritic. While the platform does not usually allow reviews before launch, one user was able to post a negative review for the game, giving it a score of 0/10.
