Splinter Cell Remake was announced almost three years ago as a modern translation for the series. Since then, Ubisoft’s updates about the remake have been quite limited.

However, new activity on the gaming giant’s social media suggests something could be in the works. Following an update on Ubisoft Toronto’s Facebook, the publisher seems to be teasing an incoming gameplay reveal.

Why it matters: Splinter Cell was a fan-favorite title when it was released in 2002. Since the announcement of the trailer, fans have been eager to find out more about the remake and the release date.

Ubisoft recently announced its showcase event, Ubisoft Forward, for June 10. Soon after the event was announced, Ubisoft Toronto updated its Facebook banner with an image of Splinter Cell.

With the remake being in development for many years and Ubisoft staying tight-lipped about the project, it could be finally ready to reveal more information. Ubisoft Forward has typically shown extensive gameplay for the publisher’s titles in the past.

Therefore, the same could be the case for Splinter Cell. According to a reliable leaker, the game could be released sometime as early as next year. Combining the hints and recent information, the likelihood of this remake showing up at Ubisoft Forward is quite high.

The remake features a rewritten narrative for modern audiences. It is also being powered by the Snowdrop engine, which is the same tech used in Star Wars Outlaws and The Division 2.

We are quite thrilled and eager to see what Ubisoft has done with the remake. The expectations are high, and we expect to finally see the remake in action at Ubisoft Forward in two months.

Other than this remake, Ubisoft is working on a modern rendition of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Moreover, reports state that two Assassin’s Creed remakes are also in development.
