The older card had substantially lower power consumption overall by around 15% than the RTX 4070 Ti, which can make a noticeable difference in the amount you’ve paid in power bills over the years.

Nvidia has dropped the MSRP of the RTX 4070 Ti from $799 to $749 with the release of the Super cards, but this does not help its value proposition at all. Some variants of the RTX 4070 Ti have started to appear for even less, like the MSI Ventus OC, but the price difference of these cards still remains vastly different from each other.


What We Recommend

RTX 4070 Ti: The RTX 3070 Ti entered the market with a steep $300 MSRP increase, launching at $499 compared to its predecessor’s $799. Despite a modest performance boost, this significant price hike deterred many potential buyers. Even today, the RTX 4070 Ti offers marginal performance gains over the RTX 4070 Super at a considerably higher cost. 

RTX 4070 Super: The RTX 4070 Super is Nvidia’s best value card, potentially capitalizing on the less favourable value propositions of the RTX 40 series. It delivers similar performance, lower power draw, and a more reasonable price to the 4070 Super. Despite the seemingly unfair comparison, our recommendation strongly favours the newer card.

To cap this comparison off, there is very little reason to purchase the RTX 4070 Ti over the RTX 4070 Super because of its bad price-to-performance ratio together with the RTX 4070 Super, almost matching it in terms of performance.
