- A reliable leaker states that the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement could be scheduled for March.
- Nintendo might release a trailer or do a full-blown event for the console.
- The Switch 2 is rumored to launch in late 2024.
Nintendo is all set to reveal its new iteration of the Switch. While the company has not officially announced anything, a rumor has surfaced that the Switch 2 will be announced in March 2024.
Why it matters: The Nintendo Switch was a massive success, selling 139.36 million consoles to date. However, the console is also in need of a refresh, making the upcoming hardware more exciting for Nintendo fans.
Talking in the Game and Talk Podcast, leaker NateTheHate has claimed to have heard that Nintendo will reveal its refreshed console next month. Many reports already pointed out a 2024 release window, but a reveal was not expected so early into 2024.
“Nintendo will announce Switch 2 in March.”

He highlighted that past talks and sources have all pointed to an announcement next month. The leaker has heard about this release date since Gamescom 2023 when initial rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 began showing up.
However, NateTheHate is unsure what means Nintendo will use to announce the successor. Whether it be a trailer or a massive Direct-like event, the gaming giant could end up using either method for the big reveal.
We hope to see the latter since the successor to Nintendo’s most popular modern console deserves a proper welcome.
This console is expected to ship at a $400 price. It is also rumored to drop the OLED display, focusing on the internal specifications for the first version.
These specifications will deliver quite an improvement over the original since the new hardware will include DLSS 3.5, making the hybrid console capable of 1080p 30FPS gameplay in many scenarios.
Following the March reveal, this console is expected to launch in late 2024. This would give Nintendo around five to six months of marketing between the launch and first reveal.
Fans can expect to learn about the first-party lineup of the new hardware in these months. Many are expecting the likes of a new 3D Mario platformer to show up, but it remains to be seen what Nintendo has planned for its new hardware.
