Collector's Edition + Game Costs Around $500!

Story Highlight

  • The GTA 6 collector’s edition has been officially revealed, and it costs $400.
  • Despite the exorbitant price tag, this version does not ship with the game itself.
  • Some have found this decision quite baffling, while others believe the collector’s edition can be skipped altogether.

GTA 6 is shaping up to be the industry’s most exciting game to date, but all of that will come at a cost. The game will launch at a base price of $80 later in November, but it will also be available through a more expensive ultimate edition.

Rockstar Games has also confirmed that GTA 6’s collector’s edition will cost a whopping $400, but it won’t include the full game itself.

Why it matters: GTA 6 is already an extremely expensive game, and with the collector’s edition included, the price goes up to rival the cost of consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Rockstar Games is calling this version of the game the Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, and the above image shows everything that will ship with this version of the game.

Fans can get their hands on extras like a 6″ figure of Macca the Gator, a Vice City razor blade keychain, and a Leonida Keys crossbody bag. Heading over to the Rockstar Games store also reveals how much all of this costs.

The collector’s edition is priced at $400, and this means that those who wish to play the game while obtaining all the extras must fork over a total of nearly $500 for GTA 6.

Over on social media, many fans have criticized the GTA 6 team for going this route, especially since the game is already priced at the recently-set standard of $80.

Some have also found the collector’s edition a bit underwhelming overall, though the good news is that this means most gamers can skip spending $400 on the title. Grand Theft Auto enthusiasts, on the other hand, are quite ecstatic following the collector’s edition reveal.
