- Forza Horizon 6 has become Xbox’s most successful Steam launch yet.
- The game boasts the highest CCU of any Xbox title and all racing games on Steam.
- It nearly reached 300k daily active Steam players, with the figure expected to grow over the weekend.
Forza Horizon 6 has been beloved by gamers and critics alike, and even developers globally praised the racing behemoth online. It soon became 2026’s best-rated title after launch, which also shows its immense popularity.
Now, Forza Horizon 6 has also been dubbed Xbox’s most successful Steam launch yet. According to Alinea Analytics, the title reportedly sold 2.8 million on Steam out of nearly 5 million overall sales so far.
It also reportedly generated $325 million in revenue, with Steam taking a staggering 49% split.
Why it matters: Forza Horizon 6 has set a new precedent on Steam for Xbox, boasting a huge CCU and sales breakdown that has surpassed all expectations.

SteamDB reveals that Forza Horizon 6 boasts the highest active player count on Steam of any Xbox game so far.
The game reached 298k gamers racing through the streets of Japan together, surpassing Halo Infinite’s previous record of 272k CCU. This figure is expected to climb further during the upcoming weekend.
It also has the biggest CCU compared to all other racing games that launched on the store over the years, which can be seen in the comparison below. Three of those top 5 games are from the Forza Horizon franchise, which is yet another milestone.
On a side note, recent figures also showed that it made more revenue on Xbox despite a day-one Game Pass launch potentially cannibalizing sales.
Forza Horizon 6 will sell millions of extra copies on Steam in the coming weeks, so it’s unclear if any other Xbox entry will surpass these milestones in the near future. Perhaps Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout remasters might stand a chance if they live up to expectations.
