Forza Horizon 6 Has Made More Revenue On Xbox Despite Being On Game Pass Day One

3 Million Players Have Also Accessed The Title Through Game Pass.

Story Highlight
  • Forza Horizon 6 has grossed more through Xbox sales than it has on Steam.
  • The title has sold more copies on PC, but Xbox accounts for 51% of its revenue due to regional pricing.
  • 3 million players have also accessed the racing simulator through Game Pass.

So far, Forza Horizon 6 from Playground Games has turned out to be a slam dunk for Xbox. The racing title has become one of the highest-rated games of 2026, earning praise from both fans and critics for its engaging gameplay and beautiful Japanese setting.

Forza Horizon 6 has also been a hit on the commercial front, breaking the record for most concurrent players on Steam for a racing simulator during its early access launch alone. As it turns out, however, the game has made more revenue on Xbox than PC.

Why it matters: Xbox players are still showing up for first-party titles and are ready to pay the premium price, making exclusivity a viable option for the company.

According to Alinea Analytics, despite Forza Horizon 6 being a day-one Game Pass launch, sales on Xbox account for 51% of the title’s total revenue. The racing simulator has already grossed over $325 million, selling 4.9 million copies on Xbox and PC.

However, only 49% of gross revenue comes from Steam, even though the platform accounts for 2.8 million sales, compared to 2.1 million copies sold on Xbox. According to the analysts, the reason is regional pricing, as most Forza Horizon 6 buyers on Xbox hail from Western markets where prices are higher.

On the other hand, China, Japan, and Brazil are amongst the top markets for the racing simulator on Steam, and the game generates lower revenue per unit in these regions.

Forza Horizon 6
The game has already sold almost 5 million copies across PC and Xbox.

Furthermore, Forza Horizon 6 has also been accessed by a solid user base on Game Pass, bringing in 3 million players in addition to the sales across the Xbox ecosystem on PC, Cloud, and Console. As a result of this brilliant sales performance, the racing simulator is now the fourth-best-selling game of 2026.

With a PS5 release coming later this year, Forza Horizon 6 is only going to see an influx of players and an increase in sales.
