The Game Is Rumored To Be A Spin-Off.

Story Highlight
  • The upcoming Kingdom Come title is set to launch in the next fiscal year.
  • Embracer confirmed the game is in full production, making a 2027 release very likely.
  • Fans are already speculating that this title is a spin-off and could go in a new direction.

Warhorse shocked the gaming world by confirming that it is developing an open-world RPG set in the world of The Lord of the Rings. The title has been part of the rumor mill for quite some time, and fans are already excited to see what the Polish studio could do with the IP.

However, Warhorse also revealed that a new “adventure” set in the world of Kingdom Come is also in production alongside the RPG. As it turns out, fans could play this mystery title as soon as next year.

Why it matters: Releasing a new game in the franchise just two years after a mainline entry is something unheard of in this generation of gaming, and Warhorse deserves plaudits for this work ethic.

In its Q4 financial report, Warhorse owner Embracer Group revealed that the new Kingdom Come game is set to launch in the next fiscal year. To put this into perspective, this upcoming financial tenure will range from April 2027 to March 2028, making a summer 2027 release highly plausible.

Considering how The Lord of the Rings project is still a few years away, this release date isn’t too far-fetched. Embracer did not reveal anything about the new Kingdom Come game besides this release window.

But the company did state that the title is in full production and insisted that fans will love this new release in the franchise. Fans online are already speculating that this project isn’t the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and, being a spin-off, could take a different approach to the series.

The upcoming Kingdom Come title is rumored to be a spin-off.

Whatever the case, if the new game is anything like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Warhorse will definitely have another hit on its hands. The 2025 RPG has gone on to sell 5 million copies and has won several Game of the Year awards while turning out to be a definitive entry in the role-playing genre.
