- The developers’ union representing Bethesda has called out the recent Fallout announcements.
- They claim that with hundreds of layoffs, the studios won’t be able to work on all these projects.
- The union says it’s just a trick to distract people, and they shouldn’t fall for it.
Bethesda recently announced a bunch of new projects, including new Fallout games, a development update on Elder Scrolls 6, and a Starfield timeline. While fans are happy with this, the developers’ union has shown skepticism towards it.
The developers’ union that represents Bethesda and other studios has claimed that Bethesda’s recent Fallout announcements were a move to distract people from the recent layoffs, which resulted in thousands of job cuts.
Why it matters: The union claims that after the layoffs, Bethesda and its teams don’t even have enough workforce to develop all these multiple projects simultaneously, so Xbox is just using them as a distraction.

Taking to Blusky, United Videogame Workers-CWA called out the recent announcements from Bethesda. They claim that Xbox is attempting to divert all the hate they’ve been getting due to its recent actions.
They state that the studios won’t be able to develop these games after losing hundreds of developers, and asked people not to fall for it. If that’s true, this won’t be the first time Xbox has used such antics in the near past.

Ninja Theory’s Senua at the Xbox Showcase was revealed even though there were no plans to fund the title. It got called out by Expedition 33 actor Ben Starr for this, and if the Fallout projects end up getting canceled, this won’t be a good look.
