Story Highlight
  • EA announced that its Motive studio is working on an Iron Man game in 2022.
  • The game hasn’t shown any footage so far despite being in development.
  • A first look at the game’s kind of unfinished trailer has leaked online.

It’s been so many years now since EA first announced its Iron Man game, helmed by the Battlefield 6 and Dead Space 2023 studio, Motive. Four years since the announcement, we have yet to see what the game actually looks like.

While still nothing official, the trailer for EA Motive’s Iron Man game has leaked online. The studio hasn’t commented on it yet, but this suggests that official information on the title might be coming soon.

Why it matters: Superhero games are always a hit or a miss. They can be huge like Marvel’s Spider-Man or Batman Arkham games or fall six feet under like Avengers, so there were mixed feelings about the game.

Many assumed that the title was dead, but EA assured that it’s still in development. Now, what seems like a test trailer for the Iron Man game surfaced, and it’s dated for August 26, which suggests that it is fairly recent.

However, it is clearly still in development, as the footage looks unfinished. The trailer opens with a cool Iron Man suit-up sequence reminiscent of the Robert Downey Jr. movies, and showcases combat and flight mechanics.

From what we see, both things look really fun. It seems really fast-paced and features both flight and ground combat. It sort of feels like Marvel’s Spider-Man, but with the genius philanthropist playboy millionaire at the steering.

Anyhow, don’t confuse this with the previously leaked footage from a canceled Iron Man game by Just Cause studio. This is an entirely different game that is developed in Unreal Engine 5 and is still in the works.
