Days Gone Is Reportedly Getting A Remaster

And Another Unwanted Remaster...?

Story Highlight
  • Recently, a leak confirmed that Sony is working on remastering Horizon Zero Dawn for PC and PS5.
  • This started another controversy as Sony has been focusing too much on remasters.
  • Now, as per a reliable leaker, it seems like the gaming giant is also working on the Days Gone remaster.

Days Gone is one of the most, if not the most, underrated PlayStation exclusive. The game has a solid fan following, demanding a sequel to this date. However, thanks to the developer never pitching the idea to Sony, a sequel is now out of the picture.

That said, Sony is known for milking its games to the extent that its fandom is annoyed, e.g., The Last of Us Part 2. Recently, an unwanted remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn was leaked, but now a reliable source has confirmed that Days Gone is also getting a remaster

Why it matters: PS5 lacks new games way too much as Sony has focused on remastering the old-gen games to this console a lot.

Days Gone Remaster Announcement Seems Imminent Now

EXtas1s, a reliable source, revealed on Twitter that the game is getting a remaster. This rumour comes directly from Jordan Middler, as per EXtas1s.

Jordan Middler confirms that Days Gone will be getting a remaster, it looks like it will end up being the remaster Grubb mentioned the other day.

EXtas1s claims have been proven to be accurate many times, so this leaker has credibility. That said, just recently, Jeff Grubb, another reliable insider, revealed that an even less exciting remaster than Horizon Zero Dawn is in the works.

Now, that could never be God of War for obvious reasons. That makes this leak seem very likely to be true. Days Gone never received a sequel because the developer never pitched it to Sony for fear of being rejected.

So, we can only imagine how this remaster would make the developer feel. It is very likely that the creator is going to be furious as a sequel would have been way better. PlayStation needs to understand that fans really don’t want these unwanted remasters as they are longing for more new IPS or sequels.

These unwanted remasters could be announced at the upcoming PlayStation State of Play. While the leak seems to be accurate, it is better to take this with a grain of salt and wait for the official announcement.
