October Release Coming Up!

Alan Wake 2 recently reached the final stages of production and was once again confirmed for a 2023 release date. The sequel is releasing over a decade after the first game, becoming yet another anticipated release for 2023.

While Remedy Entertainment has pointed to the 2023 release window multiple times, the developer has not confirmed an exact date. However, a new report hints at an October release for Alan Wake 2.

Why it matters: After a successful remaster, the franchise has returned to popularity, and fans have been thrilled to learn more about Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming title.

Speaking on the latest Monsters, Madness, and Magic podcast, the Alan Wake voice actor, Matthew Porretta, discussed the upcoming release. When talking about the game, he said:

“I’ve been working on that and that’s supposed to come out in October. We’re in the middle of working on it now.”

Considering Remedy Entertainment’s recent statements about the game, this release window makes sense. The developer is confident in the team, and the studio’s CEO claimed to be impressed with the team’s efforts.

An insider previously hinted that Alan Wake 2 could be a technical showcase for current-gen consoles. The game will not be released on PS4 and Xbox One, allowing it to fully utilize the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles.

Alan Wake 2 was revealed in 2021 at The Game Awards. No new footage has been shown since then, but the voice actor also hinted that a new trailer should be coming soon. Therefore, fans could see more at Summer Games Fest in June.
