- Sony has revealed God of War Laufey’s collector’s edition for $170/€150/£130.
- While the price isn’t bad at first sight, it doesn’t include the actual game itself.
- Fans are now calling out Sony for doing a GTA 6 by not including the game.
Santa Monica is gearing up to release its next big title, God of War: Laufey for next. Putting players in the shoes of Fay, people have voiced their opinions on this. While they are mixed, the reception of its collector’s edition certainly isn’t.
Sony has revealed God of War Laufey’ collector’s edition priced at $170/€150/£130, but it doesn’t include the actual game itself. Their post for it clearly mentions its contents and that the game is sold separately.
Why it matters: Last month, GTA 6 did the same thing when it charged an even higher amount for its collector’s edition. That too received backlash, and Sony is now rightfully also under fire for the tactics.

Fans are voicing their frustration at Sony, considering they are charging a premium for the Edition without including the game. Many fans on social media believe that Collector’s Editions have lost their charm due to these things.
The Collector’s Edition includes a Faye statue, a deck of 51 Oracle Cards, and a mini art book. On paper, this is still a better deal than what Rockstar is offering, but not including the game itself is definitely a letdown.
Fans believe that this is just another greedy move to generate additional money since anyone who is going to buy the collector’s edition is big enough of a fan that they will, of course, spend the $70 on the full game in February.
