PlayStation emulation has been making waves lately, with PS5 games like Marvel’s Wolverine and Demon’s Souls showing rapid progress.
Similarly, PS4 titles like Bloodborne have recently received native PC versions. Another famous PS4 first-party release, Infamous Second Son, now appears to have been emulated on PC.
Why it matters: It took years for PS3 emulation to reach a playable state, but the situation is completely different for both PS4 and PS5 emulation.
As shared on Twitter, Infamous Second Son very recently became playable on PC through the shadPS4 emulator.
A gameplay clip shared on Twitter notes that the game is playable at 1440p resolution, and although it still has a few visual issues, Infamous Second Son can be fully completed on the platform.
Performance is also impressive, varying between 30 and 50FPS on a Ryzen 7 5700X. For a project that didn’t exist until recently, this progress is simply astounding.
Keep in mind that fans have wanted an Infamous Second Son PC port for the longest time now.
PlayStation may have something planned for the series, but there’s no telling when the gaming giant will officially revisit the IP. Till then, fans are bringing Infamous Second Son to life on PC through the power of emulation.
