Many Veteran Devs Still Working On Mass Effect!

Story Highlight
  • A former BioWare developer says the next Mass Effect has the talent needed to succeed.
  • Many developers from the original trilogy are currently working on Mass Effect 5.
  • He believes the game could be magical if the team is allowed to do as it likes.

BioWare is moving full steam ahead with work on Mass Effect, but there are still many doubts regarding the game.

Following the failure of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, many doubt whether BioWare can deliver another fan-favorite classic. One former developer argues the team certainly can do so.

Why it matters: BioWare’s last three releases have all been underwhelming, so the team might not get another chance if the upcoming Mass Effect fails to deliver.

Mass Effect 5 Is In Full Production

Speaking to FRVR, former Mass Effect cinematic designer Armando Troisi noted that many veteran developers are still part of the core BioWare team.

The likes of art director Derek Watts and lead designer Preston Watamaniuk have worked on the original games in the past and are currently working on Mass Effect 5. As per Armando Troisi, these people know what they are doing.

The former cinematic designer claims that the next Mass Effect’s success will depend on whether these developers are allowed to do as they see fit, as opposed to the higher-ups at EA and BioWare meddling with the game’s development.

If people get out of the way and let game creators just do their thing, you never know the magic that they can create.

Of course, BioWare is still under a lot of pressure to deliver Mass Effect 5, especially since the series’ history is still quite rich.

Do you think BioWare will be able to deliver with Mass Effect 5?
