- CDPR has confirmed that nearly half of the studio is currently working on The Witcher 4.
- Aiming for a 2028 release, it has 520 devs, while Cyberpunk 2 has over 180 developers.
- Over 30 devs are also working on Project Hadar, with more hirings expected.
CD Projekt Red is currently fresh from showcasing the brand-new expansion for The Witcher 3, Songs of the Past. The studio has several projects currently in the works, but most of its workforce is heavily involved in 2 projects.
The studio has confirmed that The Witcher 4 currently has 520 developers, which is around half and most of the studio. This makes sense, considering it is their next major release. Cyberpunk 2 comes in second with over 180.
Why it matters: Interestingly, while many studios are turning to a single-game-at-a-time model, the Polish giants have multiple titles in development, with huge scopes, highlighting how big they’ve become.

In its latest development update, CDPR revealed a bunch of information, including the status of some of its future titles and the number of developers working on each project, with The Witcher targeting a 2028 release window.
The studio is believed to have just over a 1000 developers at the moment, and nearly half of them are at work on the next Witcher game. Aside from Cyberpunk 2‘s 180, its new IP, Project Hadar, has over 30 developers.

However, the studio remarks that it aims to hire 50 more devs in the future. This means the studio aims to grow even more size, despite most of the industry downsizing and considerably reducing their workforces, which is commendable.
