Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is continuing to perform strongly on Steam. Two weeks after a strong launch, Ubisoft’s remake remains among the platform’s top 10 best-selling games, extending an opening run that saw it debut at number one on the Steam charts.
Why it matters: Black Flag Resynced’s performance clearly shows there is demand for carefully updated Assassin’s Creed classics. It also gives Ubisoft a potentially lower-risk route to generate revenue from its existing catalog while developing new entries.
At the time of writing, the Black Flag remake is the 4th best-selling paid title on Steam. Keep in mind, the game’s competition includes cheap titles like Palworld, so this milestone is quite impressive.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced also peaked at 43,000 players today. This means that the game is still hitting player counts as high as 50% of its all-time peak, which is quite impressive for a single-player release after two weeks.
This staying power follows Ubisoft’s statement that Black Flag Resynced has already surpassed sales expectations for the entire first year.
Interestingly, the remake has been so successful that some have even begun asking for a sequel to Black Flag. Although most would say this is unneeded, Ubisoft is likely delighted at the recent positivity around Assassin’s Creed.
