Black Flag Resynced Is Selling Like Hotcakes!

Story Highlight
  • Black Flag Resynced has sold over 2 million copies globally in 24 hours.
  • AC Shadows had sold a million units in the same period.
  • The game’s current sales momentum suggests it will sell a few million more in the coming week.

Even AC Black Flag Resynced launched with controversy, bringing a motley of negative reviews due to microtransactions. This forced Ubisoft to defend the game, with remarks that the base title features the full experience and microtransactions are mostly just cosmetics.

However, Ubisoft has also confirmed that the game has an incredibly strong sales momentum. Black Flag Resynced has sold over 2 million copies worldwide within just 24 hours after launch.

To put things into perspective, the mainline AC Shadows had only sold a million units within the same time frame.

Why it matters: Ubisoft finally appears to have taken a step in the positive direction with Black Flag Resynced after a devastating reorganization earlier this year. The game appears to have a bright future ahead after the hard work of 15 teams went into it.

Ubisoft confirms that the Black Flag remake has sold over 2 million copies in a single day.

Ubisoft confirmed the incredible milestone on Twitter, thanking both the new and returning fans who are experiencing the Edward Kenway chronicles. The game has proven incredibly popular because it is much more than a visual remake.

Black Flag Resynced features a reworked storyline and missions that solve some of the biggest dilemmas of the original game. There are no more annoying fetch quests at every corner, for example. Hours of new added content also breathe new life into the pirate experience.

The remake was played by more than 100K active players soon after release, becoming the biggest Assassin’s Creed title on Steam. Therefore, it’s no surprise that people are calling it a path towards redemption for Ubisoft.

The Black Flag remake is expected to sell a few million more copies in the coming days. If the current sales momentum continues, it might sell over 6 million copies in the first week, 3 million more than AC Shadows’ first week.
