Ubisoft Has Deployed A Lot Of Its Resources Into The Remake!

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft has reportedly utilized 15 studios for the development of Black Flag Resynced.
  • The company is betting on the remake to be a big hit to make up for the failures.
  • The French giants had the same number of studios working on AC Shadows as well.

It is quite normal for studios to utilize multiple teams for a flagship game’s development. Activision does this with Call of Duty, and many others, like Sony, also use other support studios to expedite development and polish their games.

However, it seems that Ubisoft is going all in with its upcoming project, as a new report reveals that 15 Ubisoft studios have worked on the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. So, the company put a lot of resources into it.

Why it matters: As the studio’s turmoil continues with constant layoffs, studio closures, game cancellations, and more, it is betting on the remake of arguably the best game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise to be the saving grace

The studio has put a lot of its resources into the game

It is interesting to note that this isn’t the first time Ubisoft has deployed this many of its teams into one title. Its recent major game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, also had the same number of studios working on it.

Moreover, from these teams, Ubisoft has already shut down the Belgrade studio, with layoffs expected at others, too. The budget of the remake is currently unknown, but it’s likely quite high based on the number of teams.
