- Fans are calling out Ubisoft for extremely expensive DLCs in AC Black Flag Resynced.
- The microtransactions can cost $90, costing more than the game’s Deluxe Edition.
- There are also complaints of cutscenes being locked at just 30 FPS.
After so much speculation and waiting, Ubisoft has finally released the Black Flag remake. The initial reception from critics was quite decent, with an 84 on Metacritic and no major gripes. But with the release, there are some glaring issues.
The biggest of which are the insanely overpriced microtransactions. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced initially launched to mixed reviews because the game has microtransactions even for Deluxe users that cost more than the game.
Why it matters: Microtransactions have become synonymous with Ubisoft, as the company integrates them in almost every release. However, when you pay $70 for a remake, you don’t expect to see them.
While the reviews are now mostly positive on Steam, that wasn’t the case initially. Fans had 2 major issues: cutscenes locked at just 30 FPS, and DLCs that can cost somewhere from a whopping $85 to $90.
Now, you are obviously not obligated to purchase them, but one would assume that buying the Deluxe Edition would provide you with all additional perks, but that’s just not the case, and you’ll have to spend a lot of money to get them.

Some players also complain that the menus are a “cash grab” for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as you need to have the game to see stats for some items. Others also complain that Ubisoft even deleted their UPlay points.
So, overall, while the title itself is pretty good and has gotten a lot of praise for the wonderful visuals and overhauled mechanics, some of these things can be a bit frustrating, especially when you’ve bought the $70 edition.
