Ubisoft Might Finally Have A Much-Needed Hit!

Story Highlight
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has managed to score an 84 on Metacritic.
  • The overall reviews are positive, with praise for the overhauled mechanics and visuals.
  • This could mark a much-needed hit for Ubisoft after multiple failures.

Ubisoft had been on a weak streak with major releases but no noticeable hits. It had a lot riding on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which didn’t meet expectations; however, the Black Flag remake was what everyone was really hyped for.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced reviews are finally here; it has scored a very decent 84 on Metacritic. The overall reviews are glowing, with no major issues. We’ve also given the title a 9/10, and you can read our review here.

Why it matters: Ubisoft has been desperately in need of a hit, and it seems like Black Flag Resynced will be the title to do it. It has allegedly already surpassed the sales of Skull and Bones, with the pre-order numbers alone.

Black Flag Resynced has scored an 84 on Metacritic

On Metacritic, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has scored 85. Here are some review scores from some big outlets:

  • Tech4Gamers – 9/10
  • PSX Brazil – 9/10
  • PSU – 9/10
  • IGN – 9/10
  • Dualshockers – 9/10
  • VGC – 8/10
  • Push Square – 8/10
  • GamesRadar – 7/10
  • OpenCritic – 88

So, overall, the reception has been solid, and Ubisoft has managed to do the right thing with the remake. However, while the score is quite decent, it is still lower than the original game’s Metacritic score of 88.

It is a very faithful remake and draws directly from the original. The overhauled combat is fun, and it’s still among the best pirate games ever. The visuals are outstanding too, and with ray tracing, it looks breathtaking.

The additional story parts that have been added specifically for the remake can be hit or miss and aren’t necessarily something to look forward to. Additionally, there are tiny optimization issues, but not too significant.

Anyhow, Ubisoft has finally found its footing, and all things point towards its first major financial hit in years. This will also raise expectations for its upcoming projects like Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Far Cry 7.
