- Hangar 13 announced an expansion of Mafia: The Old Country at the Summer Game Fest.
- The DLC adds 2 new chapters to the game, marking the return of Don Salieri.
- The Don, of course, was the notorious villain of the first game and an iconic character.
Mafia: The Old Country had a lot of expectations riding on it, as it was the first new mainline game in the franchise in almost 10 years. The game had its issues, but overall it was well-received, and is now getting a DLC.
At today’s Summer Game Fest, a Mafia: The Old Country DLC ‘Man of Honor’ was announced. More importantly, the expansion will connect the game to the very first Mafia game, reintroducing us to a young Don Salieri.
Why it matters: The original Mafia is widely considered to be the best game in the franchise, with story and characters being super iconic till now. The return of the Mafia boss will push older fans towards the DLC.
Mafia: The Old Country’s story expansion will be a nostalgic affair for long-term fans of the franchise, based on the return of Don Salieri. The Don, of course, was a gruesome character who became a villain later on.
The events of the expansion will take place towards the middle of the main story, and will add 2 new chapters, along with new free-ride content. Additionally, as the events take place in 1905, we see quite a young Don Salieri.

Nonetheless, this will hook many fans to Mafia: The Old Country and lead many players to return to the game as well. It releases on August 14, and you can play the new chapter separately as well, without progressing all the way.
