  • Take-Two CEO has denied those reports, stating that they don’t operate like that.
  • He says they believe in delaying games, rather than overtime and “all-nighters”.

All signs are pointing towards GTA 6 finally landing on its November release date. With just a few months left, and the marketing getting kicked off soon, there were reports that employees at Rockstar are going to go through a crunch.

However, Take-Two CEO has denied those reports and said that there is no crunch. He said that this isn’t how the company operates; instead, if a game isn’t ready, they believe in delaying it rather than pushing overtime.

Why it matters: This clearly suggests that the development of GTA 6 is now complete, as the company is confident about the release date, and we are now just in the final stages of the development

Take-Two CEO denies reports of a crunch at the studio for GTA 6

Delaying a game’s launch is sometimes necessary, since so-called crunch isn’t part of how Take-Two operates. You do your homework, you don’t pull an all-nighter.

– Strauss Zelnick

Talking to Business Insider, Strauss Zelnick commented on the crunch debates. He states that the studio doesn’t work like that. It’s sort of like doing your homework; you do it on time and not pull an all-nighter.

In simpler words, Zelnick said that if the development requires extra time, they do take it, therefore GTA 6 was delayed multiple times. However, they don’t believe in overtime and “all-nighters”, avoiding any crunch.

He further praised the leadership at Rockstar Studios, saying that they engage people in extraordinary missions to create something perfect. Anyhow, GTA 6 releasing in November is now inevitable, as marketing begins soon.
