- PlayStation developer Housemarque launched Saros on April 30 to plenty of positive reviews.
- The game is currently doing well on the PlayStation Store in regions like the US, UK, Germany, and more.
- Despite competition from titles like EA Sports FC 26 and Fortnite, the game is holding a spot in the top 5 best-sellers across many regions.
The latest addition to the PS5’s first-party library comes in the form of Saros. As the follow-up to Housemarque’s Returnal, Saros offers a similar flavor of bullet-hell gameplay infused with rogue-lite mechanics.
So far, the game has received various impressive reviews, and it is also doing well in terms of digital sales on the PlayStation Store.
Why it matters: PlayStation has been quite harsh with studio closures when assessing the viability of its first-party teams, so this success will likely be encouraging for Housemarque moving forward.
At the time of writing, Saros has found itself among the top 5 best-selling games on PSN across major regions, such as the US and UK.
Housemarque’s latest release has also managed to climb the charts in several countries across Europe, landing in the top positions on storefronts in regions like Germany, Finland, and Poland.
The game is currently competing with titles like EA Sports FC 26, Fortnite, and recent releases like Invincible Vs. Moreover, it has made its way among the top 10 despite the presence of various free-to-play titles on these lists.
It’s important to note that Saros’ gameplay style meant that it was unlikely to achieve success on par with PlayStation’s biggest blockbusters. Therefore, these results are certainly encouraging.

Elsewhere, Saros reportedly debuted as the third-best-selling physical game in the UK during its launch week. While it was outsold by Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, the game still managed to make it into the top 3 best-sellers of the region.
What do you think of the game’s commercial performance so far? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.
