- Demand for Resident Evil Requiem is incredibly high, and it seems Capcom is struggling to keep up.
- The title is no longer available to buy physically across most storefronts.
- Many gamers who had already purchased the game are now reporting delays and cancellations to their orders.
Resident Evil Requiem has become one of Capcom’s most critically acclaimed titles already, and it seems gamers around the globe are excited to finally try the series’ latest offering.
Previously, analysts predicted that Resident Evil Requiem would end up as one of the best-selling entries in the series, and this prediction appears to have been spot on. Reports on social media suggest that the game is currently sold out across multiple stores.
Why it matters: Physical copies of games don’t typically sell out, even in cases of extremely anticipated releases.

As reported by Shinobi602, Resident Evil Requiem was already sold out in stores like Walmart, GameStop, and Amazon soon after the reviews went live. At the time of writing, this is still the case, and it seems many gamers are now beginning to lose patience.
Many have taken to social media to share the status of their Amazon pre-orders. Users BlackMajikMan90 and JimAlan shared screenshots confirming that their orders had been pushed back further to later than the February 27 release date.
Some, like SavageCitizen, have yet to even receive an estimated release date for their Amazon pre-order. As VicariousNick points out, the situation isn’t too different for orders placed on the GameStop website.
The silver lining is that Resident Evil Requiem can still be bought digitally for those unwilling to wait. Capcom has likely been made aware of the demand for the physical edition and will work on increasing stock levels, but till then, it seems the digital option remains the best choice for those looking to play the game on day one.
Previously, this phenomenon was observed when Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sold out across multiple storefronts. If this similarity is any hint, Capcom is in for unprecedented success come Resident Evil Requiem’s launch.
