Gaming is one of the biggest industries in the world, even surpassing the combined value of the music and film industries. It has a global impact ranging from America to Europe and other Asian, Middle Eastern, and African regions. 

A new report suggests that the Asian and Middle Eastern markets generated over $86 billion in revenue in gaming software and subscription sales in 2024, marking a 1.4% growth, with more expected in the next few years. 

Why it matters: For the last few years, the Asian, especially the Chinese and Korean markets, have had a huge impact on gaming, and this can be observed by the revenue report of the entire region.

According to a report from Niko Partners (via Gamesindustry) covering 13 countries, including China, India, Japan, Korea, and others, gaming software and sales generated around $86.6 billion last year. 

However, while this year’s growth was slower compared to previous years, these regions remain a focal point for innovation and growth in gaming. 7,885 gamers were surveyed in these regions to generate the report.

Moreover, a major increase is expected in the next few years, and the revenue is expected to reach $96 billion by 2029. This shows that the focus towards gaming is strong and the future is bright for the industry. 

In terms of individual growth, China had the biggest share, while India is the fastest-growing in the Asian region. Saudi Arabia led the growth for MENA. Overall, growth was seen across all the regions.
