Yes, I’m talking about those clicky, beautifully designed ones we all adore. That’s why when I found out they were launching a new gaming mouse, I became exceedingly curious and mildly skeptical.

I asked myself, what is the reason a company that is so well-reputed for keyboards would decide to launch a product in the gaming mouse segment? Many of you would be wondering about the same thing. Instead, Epomaker has only included features that truly matter, including accurate tracking, versatile connectivity, and a user-friendly software interface that does not overcomplicate the experience. Moreover, it emphasizes ergonomic design, solid build quality, and exceptional performance.

The box’s minimalist design reflects the product’s simplicity, and the packaging is straightforward. Everything inside the box is neatly organized, as you would expect. The mouse has been placed inside a custom plastic sleeve to avoid unintended damage during shipping. Alongside it, there’s a USB-A to C braided cable that feels much better than those flimsy ones you sometimes get, a 2.4GHz dongle, a handy manual, and grip tapes that allow you to customise the mouse’s feel.

Design

The Epomaker Click Mouse has a pleasingly simple design, and the shape strikes a neat balance. Its smooth curves provide a polished look, making it visually appealing. Ergonomics-wise, this mouse is one of the best I have used. Whether I use a claw grip, a fingertip grip, or even a palm grip, the mouse rests comfortably in my hand. Ideally, it is perfect for those who prefer a hybrid grip.

Furthermore, its weight is perfectly distributed, feeling light enough to allow for swift movements while maintaining a grounded feel when held. I especially admire the button grooves, which have been designed to effortlessly guide the fingers, accommodating them to the primary clicks, which reduces the chances of clicks being misfires.

Build Quality

Since it’s made from durable plastic, Epomaker ensures adequate quality by making its mouse sturdy enough to withstand the daily wear and tear of gaming, while also resisting creaking or bending, even when squeezed tightly. In my opinion, the Click Mouse strikes a good balance between the two extremes, as it feels sufficiently durable. Yet, it is quite light enough, at 58g.

Moreover, the mouse’s surface cover is smooth and somewhat resistant to fingerprints, providing a clean feel while offering a gentle grip that prevents slippage. Most importantly, the layer seems protective, helping keep it safe from scratches and scuffs. I’m not sure if this will hold in the long run, but given the materials used in this mouse, it may retain its original appearance for some time.

Buttons

Epomaker has used the Omron D2LS mechanical switches for the primary buttons, and these switches are rated for 20 million clicks. It indicates that they are built to last and will accompany you for a long time. They are ideal for rapid-fire inputs since they feel light and swift. If you are a gamer who plays fast-paced FPS or MOBA titles. You’ll know exactly how important it is for a mouse to have buttons that respond quickly without getting mushy.

Although the Click Mouse’s clicks aren’t as clear or pleasant as those of some of the best gaming mice, it still performs admirably in that aspect. On the downside, the primary buttons have some wobbling, which causes the buttons to move a little when you push them from their sides. Still, it’s not a deal breaker. 

Thanks to their distinctive textured ridge, side buttons are easy to locate and press without unintentionally pressing the wrong one. They stand out from the rest and are more distinguishable. It seems natural, as you don’t need to think twice about where your fingertips are resting. You can easily assign several actions to it and perform effortlessly. 

Regarding the scroll wheel, I have mixed opinions about it. On the one hand, it feels great to use due to its sturdiness and mechanical-like feel. It balances being stiff and flexible for regular tasks like web browsing and document scrolling. However, it could be easier to spam, particularly for players who rely on scroll inputs in their playstyle. This might be a minor drawback if you frequently use the scroll wheel. Even though it’s not one of the best I’ve ever used, it still works well enough in most situations.

Battery Life

Although its battery life isn’t very impressive, the Epomaker Click Mouse does get the job done. As expected, it doesn’t last weeks like many of the more expensive mice on the market. Still, the 500mAh battery inside will be more than adequate for most gamers. Throughout the many weeks of testing, I pushed this to its limits by playing games for long periods, continuously using the mouse at an 8K polling rate.

Thankfully, it usually lasted three to four days before requiring a recharge. It’s also easy to charge. The USB-C braided cable with the mouse is of great quality, which is appreciated since many mice include cheap, fragile wires. It also doesn’t take much time to charge up. Your battery would last for several hours even after a short 30-minute charge. On the other hand, after charging it completely, you can use it freely for several days. 

Connectivity

The Epomaker Click Mouse covers all the bases when it comes to connectivity. It offers three solid options: a steady 2.4GHz wireless mode, Bluetooth, and wired through a USB A to C cable. In 2.4GHz wireless mode, the mouse delivers a stable, lag-free connection. This connection is highly reliable, which is very important during competitive gaming.

Switching over to Bluetooth adds further flexibility, which is helpful if you want to use the mouse with other devices like your laptop. Connecting to Bluetooth was easy. It doesn’t have the same responsiveness as the 2.4GHz mode, but it works adequately. Of course, wired mode is also an option. Simply plug in the USB A to C cable, and you’re good to go.

Software

Epomaker HUB

Regarding software, Epomaker HUB is straightforward and uncomplicated, performing as expected. The software enables you to control almost everything, allowing you to customize your mouse by adjusting the DPI, remapping buttons, setting up macros, and adjusting RGB lighting. It features a clean and straightforward interface, making it easier to find the desired settings.

That said, there are some downsides to it. For instance, going through different settings can be somewhat irritating and sometimes cause lag. This is not to say it is bad, but rather that it could be improved. The same goes for the customization range. Although it is basic compared to most high-end software. Yet, it effectively covers all the basics without making them too complicated.

Performance

The PAW3950 powers the sensor on the Epomaker Click Mouse. Its DPI can be customized anywhere between 800 and 42,000. Even though it is a bit overkill, its 8K polling rate does help capture the mouse’s minimal movements by tracking them with extreme accuracy and precision. This is uncommon for other brands, which mostly only provide a 1000Hz polling rate option.

In addition to its basic functions, the mouse has extra features that enhance its performance. For instance, the adjustable lift-off distance (LOD) enables users to have complete control over when the sensor stops tracking. During my gaming tests, the Epomaker Click Mouse met my expectations. I tried several FPS games like Valorant, and it did not let me down.

The mouse rarely struggles at all during rapid changes in my aim. Every movement was recorded smoothly, quick, and stable. Additionally, tracking performance was also accurate when I used a sniper in various games. There was no bothersome stutter or lag that interrupted my gameplay. Moreover, its responsiveness makes it a joy to use. Thankfully, there was no erratic behavior throughout my numerous gaming sessions.

Should You Buy It or Not?

Buy it if

✅ You need solid performance: The Epomaker Click Mouse’s minimalist aesthetic design and outstanding PAW3950 sensor deliver precise tracking and responsiveness.

✅ You prefer various connectivity options: With wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth modes, it connects and switches between your desktop and laptop effortlessly. 

✅ You need comfort: Its balanced weight distribution and thoughtfully designed button grooves help reduce fatigue during long sessions.

Don’t buy it if

❌ You’re picky about software: While the Epomaker HUB software covers all the basics, it still has a few quirks that might bother users expecting a flawless customization experience.

❌ You require long-lasting battery: The 500mAh battery generally lasts only 3 to 4 days with heavy use and a high polling rate. 

Final Verdict

After testing the Epomaker Click Mouse for several weeks, it left a great impression on me. Its outstanding performance, lightweight design, smooth tracking, and responsiveness are among its upsides, and it excels in almost every aspect. Considering competitors, Epomaker maintains its position by offering a simple, minimalist, and no-nonsense design that doesn’t compromise on quality and performance. Many high-end mouse manufacturers add unnecessary frills, mostly gimmicks and extras.

Although this mouse isn’t flashy like them, it offers an unbeatable balance of features for its price. The mouse is priced adequately, considering the PAW3950 sensor, high-quality mechanical switches, and adequate customizable options, which make it feel like a higher-end product. While it could benefit from minor software tweaks and improved button feedback, the Click Mouse performs impressively in almost every other aspect. So, would I recommend it? Absolutely yes
