More Than 10 AC Games Planned For Next 5 Years!

Story Highlight
  • According to the latest reports, another Assassin’s Creed RPG is being worked on, marking the fifth RPG from the series.
  • Previous rumors have alluded to a future game set in the Aztec era.
  • Ubisoft will also release titles that depict other gameplay styles for the series.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows marks the latest RPG outing for Ubisoft’s magnum opus after a slight detour with 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

The upcoming entry finally takes the series to Japan, bringing notable improvements to the RPG formula, but Ubisoft is already looking ahead. While Assassin’s Creed Shadows has yet to come out, a new report reveals that the series’ next RPG is already in the works.

Why it matters: It was thought that Ubisoft would take a break from the RPG formula in an attempt to change things up for Assassin’s Creed after the upcoming entry.

Discussing Ubisoft’s future titles, Insider Gaming recently pointed to projects expected from the studio over the next few years. These include the Assassin’s Creed 4 Remake, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, and another mystery remake from Assassin’s Creed.

However, the same report mentioned that another flagship RPG is in the works. This RPG should not be confused with the already announced Assassin’s Creed Hexe, a title expected to deviate from the series’ established formula.

Because the RPG formula has been such a hit for the IP, it comes as no surprise that Ubisoft would continue to focus on this style of gameplay. Past rumors have suggested that a game set in the Aztec era may be in the works, so this could end up being a possible setting for this flagship title.

Unfortunately, there is no information about this project for now. Its fate will also depend on next month’s release, a game that will likely determine the studio’s fate for the foreseeable future. Moreover, it should be noted that more than 10 entries are being worked on for this series.
