Dogfights Will Play Major Role In The Game!

Story Highlights
  • Space combat will be a major part of Star Wars Outlaws.
  • The team has created an accessible system with plenty of action.
  • From smaller-scale dogfights to all-out space combat, Massive Entertainment has accounted for all scenarios.

Massive Entertainment continues to unveil more about Star Wars Outlaws as the release date approaches. So far, the developers have confirmed a step away from Ubisoft’s towers, a large amount of content in space, and more.

In the latest round of interviews, the team addressed space flight and combat. According to Massive Entertainment, this part of the game will be full of explosive action and battles.

Why it matters: While many Star Wars games exist, space combat rarely gets to shine. Even last year’s well-received Star Wars Jedi: Survivor skipped this part of the franchise.

Speaking to Gameinformer, director Julian Gerighty stated that space flight won’t be too difficult to grasp. Star Wars Outlaws aims for accessible systems that are enjoyable for all audiences.

On that note, the director states fun is another crucial component. The controls are meant to be satisfying, and the ship comes with a distinct sense of speed. Massive Entertainment has also confirmed access to hyper-drive at all times.

Moreover, battles will play a major role in space flight. As per the director, Star Wars Outlaws offers both smaller-scale dogfights and massive battles. Overall, the studio did its best to keep space flight fun and engaging.

We wanted to make space flight as fun, accessible, and action-packed as possible.

-Julian Gerighty

Star Wars Outlaws Is Ubisoft’s First Major Attempt At This Franchise

Elsewhere, players will be able to explore space stations. These might include various NPCs and side-quests, further expanding Star Wars Outlaws’ take on the galactic adventure.

Between the dogfights, narrative, and exploration opportunities, Massive Entertainment’s take on this part of Star Wars seems to be headed in the right direction.

Star Wars Outlaws officially arrives in just a few more months. Despite the positivity, Ubisoft has drawn criticism for a few of its decisions, leading to some caution among the fandom.

At the very least, the game should be a satisfying experience for those craving an action-fueled trip through space.
