Xbox Fans Really Want Helldivers 2!

Story Highlight
  • Helldivers 2 has been booming in popularity ever since it was launched.
  • Xbox fans started a petition to bring this game to their platform of choice recently.
  • The petition has reached a whopping 72K signatures in just 8 days.

2024 has been full of surprises so far. First, Palworld, an Xbox-exclusive game, conquered Steam and became an unforgettable part of the year. Following that, Helldivers 2, a PlayStation exclusive, took the internet by storm.

This game became PlayStation’s biggest launch on Steam. However, its current popularity has also enticed Xbox gamers, leading to a petition for the game on this platform. A week after the petition was created, it has already reached 72K signatures.

Why it matters: Helldivers 2 is spearing like wildlife, and its community is a major part of its current success. With over 20 million players on Xbox, the game could grow further on the platform.

Initially, the petition gathered 4K signatures in three days. Since then, thousands have signed it in the hopes of reaching out to Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony. In five days, the petition has grown by over 10 times.

While PlayStation is unlikely to bring such a successful title to a rival platform, fans continue to sign the petition. Even at the time of writing, several users have demanded an Xbox release for Helldivers 2 within the last hour.

Since the petition was created, Xbox has also begun its multiplatform push. With four games confirmed for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, Microsoft has made its move toward limiting exclusivity in the industry.

However, Helldivers 2 continues to face its own challenges. The Steam ratings are currently mixed due to server issues, though Arrowhead Game Studios has recently increased the concurrent player cap to 700K.

The current excitement around Helldivers 2 might just be enough to catch PlayStation’s attention.

While unlikely, an Xbox release might not be completely out of the question. Live-service titles always benefit from more players, and PlayStation-owned IPs like Destiny still have a presence on the platform.

Therefore, as the petition finds thousands of new signatures, it might end up making a difference. In the meantime, fans can enjoy Helldivers 2 on PlayStation and PC.
