Red Dead Redemption 2 Brazil Rating Hints At Nintendo Switch Release

Rockstar May Be Working On Impossible Port!

Update:-

The Brazilian Rating Board sparked a lot of excitement among Nintendo Switch owners and fans of Red Dead Redemption. However, it appears the Nintendo Switch rating was an error from the board.

As spotted by Ben, the Board meant to rate the recently released Red Dead Redemption port for the Nintendo Switch. The mistake has since been corrected, confirming that Rockstar Games’ latest release is not coming to any new consoles for now.

Original Story:-

Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered one of Rockstar Games’ strongest narratives to date. The game delivers a memorable narrative with well-written characters and an immersive open world, making it one of the best open-world titles of the last generation.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently limited to the PS4 and Xbox One on consoles, being available to play on newer consoles through backward compatibility. However, a recent rating from Brazil appears to be hinting at a re-release for the game.

According to a report, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been rated for the Nintendo Switch.

Why it matters: The Nintendo Switch is currently the best-selling console on the market, incentivizing major AAA studios to bring their games to the system.

As reported by the Editor-in-Chief of Universo Nintendo, Rockstar Games’ latest title has received a rating for the Nintendo Switch in Brazil.

This rating suggests that a new version of the game is on the way, bringing the iconic journey of Arthur Morgan to millions of Nintendo gamers worldwide. Last month, the original Red Dead Redemption was also released on the Nintendo hardware.

This port delivered a well-rounded version of Red Dead Redemption for the hybrid console, but it received criticism for being a safe re-release. Nonetheless, Red Dead Redemption 2 would be much harder to port than its predecessor.

The game utilizes the full capabilities of the PS4 and Xbox One, delivering arguably the most beautiful and technically impressive open world on these consoles. Therefore, a port for the Nintendo Switch would be a massive challenge.

While AAA games like The Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal have been successfully ported to the console, recent games like Mortal Kombat 1 have turned out to be a disaster on the weaker Nintendo hardware.

Red Dead Redemption 2

A recent leak from Microsoft has already hinted at a new version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Following the leak, it was speculated that this was the rumored current-generation upgrade for the game.

However, it is possible that Rockstar Games scrapped this version in favor of a Nintendo Switch port.

Nonetheless, this rating points to an interesting scenario.

It has also led to speculation about a potential Red Dead Redemption 2 release for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new hardware from Nintendo is expected to be released next year, and Rockstar Games would have much to gain from offering its critically acclaimed release on the console in 2024.
