"We Have Gaming’s Smartest Fans!"

Bethesda Game Studios’ arduous journey of creating Starfield is finally coming to an end tomorrow once the game is released in early access.

The RPG is dubbed the studio’s most ambitious project, one that many developers at Bethesda Game Studios had been wanting to create for nearly 25 years. This also includes Todd Howard, who is the Director of Starfield.

The game was in development for 8 years, but this memorable journey is nearly over for the studio. As the industry prepares for a monumental release in the RPG genre, Todd Howard has thanked the Starfield community for its support.

Why it matters: Fans have been dedicated to the RPG for over 5 years. This instance also shows the importance of the relationship between developers and fans, with the latter motivating studios to create better and more ambitious games.

Todd Howard wrote that the community’s excitement fueled the studio’s passion and ambitions for Starfield. He also said:

“A quick THANK YOU for your passion and excitement for Starfield.”

He showered fans with praise due to all the support for the studio over the years. The Director also stated that Bethesda’s fans are the smartest in the industry and went on to appreciate the community they built around Starfield.

As expected, this post has received a lot of appreciation from the fans, many of whom are impatiently waiting for Starfield’s early access. The impatience is not too surprising, considering fans had already planned to take time off from work for the launch.

A few replies have also alluded to the recent Starfield leaks, lightheartedly poking fun at the leaker referring to Todd Howard in one of his early videos.

Nonetheless, the Reddit post shows a great interaction between a studio and its fandom.

Microsoft and Bethesda Game Studios are heavily invested in the project, and many are curious to finally jump into a fully-fledged RPG experience from the renowned developer after Fallout 4 in 2015.

Following the anticipation, Starfield has firmly placed itself as the best-selling release of Steam ahead of its launch. While the game had already reached this position two days ago, it has now beaten free-to-play titles like CS:GO for the definitive top spot on Steam.
