Modern Warfare 4 isn’t the most anticipated Call of Duty players have seen lately, and many have even called it out for being extremely similar to past Modern Warfare titles.
However, one new multiplayer addition from Modern Warfare 4 could prove to be quite exciting. The first-person shooter is introducing a mode taking direct inspiration from Counter-Strike and Valorant.
Why it matters: Call of Duty isn’t known for its tactical gameplay, but the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 mode does sound quite interesting.

Modern Warfare 4 is set to introduce a new PvP mode called Collateral, and it sounds very different from the usual run-and-gun Call of Duty formula. The mode takes inspiration from Counter-Strike and Valorant.
Like the two games, Collateral will be based on single-life combat. Players will start out with a pistol and have the ability to buy weapons, equipment, armor, and perks through cash gained based on their performance in each round.
It is also said that the mode will include a Team Buy option for those willing to pool together cash for scorestreaks like UAVs. Moreover, Collateral will remove health regeneration to add an extra layer of strategy to each encounter.
Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, leaving less than a full month before its release. Once the game arrives, players will have the ability to try Collateral for themselves.
