Another Win For Hi-Fi Rush!

Hi-Fi Rush was released in the first month of the year, and the game was shadow dropped during the Xbox Developer Direct. It took everyone by surprise and became one of the best offerings from Xbox in 2023.

The game quickly became popular and was well-received by fans and critics. This made it one of the most successful games from Tango Gameworks. Following this success, Hi-Fi Rush has also bagged an award at the Develop:Star Awards 2023.

Why it matters: Tango Gameworks’ latest offering helps add diversity to Xbox’s current first-party lineup. It also allows gamers to keep themselves engaged until big hitters like Starfield arrive.

Hi-Fi Rush won the Best Original IP award at the Develop Conference. It competed with titles like Tchia, Rollerdrome, and As Dusk Falls for the award but came out on top.

Additionally, the game was included in various other categories. It was nominated for Best Game Design, a category that included massive AAA titles like God of War Ragnarok.

Hi-Fi Rush was also included in other categories like Best Visual Art and Best Audio, highlighting Tango Gameworks’ accomplishments with the new IP. The game includes a unique art style with cell-shaded visuals.

Being a rhythm-based action game, music is also critical to the experience in Hi-Fi Rush. As such, Tango Gameworks has nailed these elements, with the nominations recognizing the studio’s efforts.

Following the announcement, Director John Johanas took to Twitter. The Director expressed his gratitude and excitement at the achievement.

While a sequel has not been confirmed to be in development, a recent job listing and a LinkedIn profile have provided evidence for multiplayer elements in Tango Gameworks’ next project. The developer is also likely to use Unreal Engine 5.
