Street Fighter 6 continues Capcom’s momentum of highly successful releases in recent years. The title has left behind popular fighting games like Mortal Kombat 11 and Tekken 7 in terms of concurrent players on Steam and is selling extremely well on the platform.
Capcom has also provided a small update on the game, revealing that it has reached over 1 million players.
Why it matters: Street Fighter 6 marks a return to form for the classic fighting game franchise. Capcom is aiming for 10 million sales, and this update marks the first step toward that goal.

The update further reveals that the entire Street Fighter franchise has surpassed 50 million sales in total.
Apart from sales, the reception for Street Fighter 6 has also been phenomenal. Many critics have claimed that it has the potential to become the best in the series as it offers a compelling mix of content and engaging gameplay.
Previously, Street Fighter 5 sold over 1.4 million copies nearly three weeks after launch. The game sold below Capcom’s expectations, but this does not seem to be the case for the most recent launch.
The game will continue to receive post-launch content in the form of characters, with the first few already announced. As such, Street Fighter 6 is already off to a great start, and the game has a bright future ahead.
