RE: Code Veronica Remake Won’t Be As Ambitious As RE4 Remake, Says Leaker

"Resident Evil 4 Was The Crown Jewel of Remakes"

Story Highlight
  • Capcom is currently working on two remakes, Re: Code Veronica and Zero.
  • However, a reliable leaker has revealed that they won’t be as ambitious as the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
  • According to him, RE4 was the crown jewel of remakes, so the fans should not expect the Code Veronica remake to be as good.

Capcom outdid itself with the Resident Evil 4 remake. The developer turned the game upside down and gave more than nostalgia to those who were fans of the original game. It is the best example of a remake gone well.

Due to this, many are hoping for similar types of remakes from Capcom. Resident Evil: Code Veronica is said to be the next remake, which is being developed by the same team that worked on RE4 Remake.

However, a reliable leaker has revealed that the game won’t be as ambitious as the Part 4 remake so fans should keep expectations in check.

Why it matters: Resident Evil: Code Veronica is hailed as one of the best RE games, so the fandom is quite excited about the remake.

RE: Veronica and Zero Remakes Won’t Be As Ambitious As The RE4 Remake

This leak comes directly from the Dusk Golem, who has proven to be a credible leaker, especially for the Resident Evil series. He mentioned in his Discord channel that only two remakes are currently in active development

The first one is Resident Evil Zero, and the other is Code Veronica. However, Capcom doesn’t aim to make these remakes as good as the RE4 one. He also confirmed that Resident Evil 9 is also in development.

Capcom don’t really plan for there to be A Remake as “ambitious” as RE:4

He also said that the Resident Evil 4 remake was the crown jewel of remakes, and it was the most challenging one to tackle in scale, scope, and expectation. We do agree with that, as Capcom did the unthinkable with it. There is a reason why the remake managed to achieve 7 million sales in just a year.

That said, fans have been demanding the RE: Code Veronica remake for a while now. So, they might be a little disappointed by this news, but we don’t think Capcom would compromise on the quality.

Fans had high expectations as the remake was being developed by the same team that worked on RE4 Remake. While it might not match the quality of their previous, it is likely to live up to the hype.
