Physical Game Enthusiasts Must Pay Extra For Ocarina of Time Remake!

Story Highlight
  • Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake starts at just $60 for a fully revamped experience.
  • The game’s physical copy, however, will cost $70, marking a $10 price difference.
  • Nintendo’s new approach pushes digital copies as the cheaper alternative.

Nintendo wrapped up its dedicated Direct for The Legend of Zelda a few hours ago, confirming plenty of new details regarding The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, including its release date.

The gaming giant also announced the remake’s pricing, and to fans’ surprise, it starts at just $60.

Why it matters: Nintendo began the trend of $80 AAA releases last year, after which GTA 6 also followed suit. However, the Japanese gaming giant is moving forward on a case-by-case basis for its titles.

The Zelda: Ocarina of Time physical edition will cost $70. Following a leak earlier today, this price has now been officially confirmed via the game’s Amazon listing.

However, the catch is that Nintendo is continuing its trend of making physical editions more expensive than the digital editions. Therefore, the remake can be had for just $60 on the Nintendo eShop.

Because of this pricing structure, those looking to buy the game on Amazon can also save $10 by opting for a Nintendo Switch 2 digital code when buying Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake.

The good news is that at least Nintendo hasn’t launched too many of its games at the $80 price point just yet. However, fans can certainly expect the gaming giant to raise prices once even bigger titles, like Mario, Super Smash Bros, and the next mainline Zelda, arrive.

What do you think about Ocarina of Time Remake’s pricing so far? Let’s discuss in the comments below.
