Xbox Still Hasn’t Refunded Redfall DLC 15 Months Later

Xbox Reportedly Still Owes Players!!

Story Highlight
  • Redfall became Arkane Studios’ worst-rated release, eventually leading to the studio’s closure.
  • The deluxe edition promised a DLC, but the developer’s shutdown means it’ll never be released.
  • Players who purchased the deluxe edition are still waiting for refunds despite the canceled content.

Redfall, a game Microsoft was quite confident in, ended up struggling heavily in 2023. It flopped on both PC and Xbox, with fans going so far as to say the game wasn’t even worth $10, a clear reflection of how poorly it was received.

At its lowest point, the player base had shrunk so much that finding a match became nearly impossible. Despite this, some players had purchased the $100 Deluxe Edition, which promised future DLC.

However, as the studio has been shut down for a while, all thanks to the game’s disastrous performance, the DLC will never see the light of day. To make matters worse, some purchasers of the Deluxe Edition have still not received any refunds.

Why it matters: With the studio already shut down, the promised DLC will never arrive. This makes refunds for Deluxe Edition buyers not just fair, but necessary.

Redfall DLC Refund
Redfall Deluxe Buyers Are Still Waiting On Refunds For The Canceled DLC.

A Twitter user, SnapBlastPlay, bought the deluxe edition of Redfall at launch. Since the studio has already shut down, the user has been waiting for a refund for nearly 15 months.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is that they haven’t received any proper response. While it seems players need to submit a support ticket to get answers, SnapBlastPlay did that a year ago, only to be told that Microsoft was working on it. A year later, it appears they’re still working on it.

This comes across as extremely unprofessional for a trillion-dollar company, especially since situations like this could even open the door to case law or, in the worst case, a class-action lawsuit.

On the lighter side, fans have also been poking fun at the buyer, questioning why anyone would purchase the deluxe edition of Redfall at launch.

It is worth noting that while many players reported receiving refunds last year, some are still waiting to this day.
