- Marvel’s Spider-Man titles have entered the Steam Top Sellers list, dominating among two of the best spots.
- This resurgence is due to hype around the Brand New Day movie and Steam sales for both games.
- Many new players are buying Insomniac titles to experience them for the first time amid movie success.
A majority of AAA single-player PlayStation games saw mediocre sales on PC, resulting in Sony quitting its multiplatform strategy entirely. Insomniac’s Spider-Man titles were some of the best-performing entries in terms of sales and player reception.
Now, the PC ports of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and the second entry are once again dominating the Steam Top Sellers chart.
They have seen a sharp surge in sales and player activity amid the Brand New Day movie hype and its record-setting performance at the box office.
Why it matters: Insomniac’s Spider-Man games could sell a few million copies more each as droves of new players pour into the AAA franchise for the first time after enjoying the incredibly successful Brand New Day movie.

As seen on SteamDB, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently dominating the 4th spot in the Top Sellers chart, while the remastered edition of the first game is in 8th place.
They also surpassed multiple well-performing free-to-play live-service entries and overshadowed other PC behemoths on Steam. PlayStation is also taking full advantage of this renewed attention with the staggering 33% and 60% off sales on both games.
A large influx of new and returning players is pouring into both games after Brand New Day reignited interest in the franchise. As a result, they have seen a sharp hike in daily player counts on Steam since the last week of July.

Additionally, Insomniac’s recent Spider-Man 2 update with PSSR 2 and new suits has also brought new attention. However, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has failed to catch on the same way as these other two games for now.
Regardless, Insomniac’s Spider-Man ports on PC are expected to collectively sell new copies in the hundreds of thousands to millions in the next few weeks. And it’s fair to assume that these titles are also seeing a major sales resurgence on PlayStation at the moment.
