With the release of Resident Evil Requiem, the series has once again reached its peak. The title became the fastest-selling game in the franchise and has now sold over 7 million units in just 2 months since its February launch.
Now, according to Capcom’s latest financial report, the Resident Evil franchise has surpassed 200 million overall sales. However, Requiem has been a huge highlight, already achieving astonishing numbers.
Why it matters: Capcom’s crowning jewel, the Resident Evil series, has now joined the ranks of the elite, becoming one of the best-selling game series of all time.

Capcom’s FY2025 report was a hugely pleasant revelation that it has now recorded a 9th consecutive year of profits. Additionally, it also revealed the updated sales figures for some of its most successful franchises.
Among them is Resident Evil, which has now sold 201 million overall units. Interestingly, it now stands on the cusp of entering the top 10 best-selling video game franchises of all time, and might enter the category soon.

The runners-up for the highest-selling Capcom franchises include Monster Hunter with 127 million, and Street Fighter with 59 million overall units sold. All in all, Capcom has solid results for all of its catalog.
The studio has even predicted that it anticipates the next year to be another successful one. It has also predicted to sell a monstrous 65 million units in the next fiscal year, which is up from the previous fiscal year.
